Charlie's 5th Birthday

Grandma Stanley made the boys some shirts with fabric that she had used to make James a shirt.

Charlie had surgery the day before his real 5th birthday, so we delayed celebrating it for a week.  He was very excited to open presents.

This is when we started singing happy birthday to him and bringing the cake over.  He was so excited!

Happy Birthday, sweet Charlie!

Lucy's First Communion

Lucy received her First Communion this spring, after preparing and waiting all year!

Her godmother came all the way from Chicago to celebrate with us!

This is about the best family picture we can manage after a mass!

Her First Communion was on a Saturday and on Sunday all of the children were invited to dress in their finery again and help with the May Crowning.  Last year at the May Crowning, Lucy told me she was dreaming of the day when she would crown Mary.  Well, she got her wish!  Her DRE chose her out of the all of the first communicants to crown Mary.  She was so thrilled.

Jumping ahead in time

I fully intend on going back and posting all of the pictures and memories of the past year, but in the meantime, here are some more current photos.

Lucy had a very happy seventh birthday, complete with a princess party and Grandma and Grandpa Stanley coming for the day!  Here are all of the friends dancing to ballet.

Peter is wearing a horse head backwards.  He and Charlie insist on wearing it that way.

 Playing duck duck goose.

Charlie is still learning to be gentle during duck duck goose :-)

 Feasting!

Easter darlings in all their finery.
