Apple-picking

I'm playing catch-up here on our life events. A couple weekends ago, we went apple-picking with some friends.

Seeing as Lucy loves anything involving nature, she had a very happy day.

I can't believe I've never blogged about my favorite baby item before: the sling. I can hardly imagine our lives without it. It is the only way that we can have pleasant shopping trips. Lucy is as content as can be just hanging out and looking at the world. If she is in more of an active mood, I put her in so she is facing out. That way she can kick her legs and grab things (therefore, I mostly wear it with her facing towards me).

James tastes a Sun Crisp, and approves.

And then we were the ridiculous parents who hold their baby in between apple branches for a baby photoshoot. I think it was a pretty cute one!

After a couple of really busy weekends without much family time, this was such a great day. We decided to risk it, even though rain was in the forecast and it turned out perfectly. We got enough apples to make a pie, and then it started drizzling. There was a mad dash for the trailer that took you back to the shelter and we made it on pretty quick. A very nice woman with an umbrella sat next to me and covered Lucy and me. About two minutes after we got under the shelter, it started downpouring like crazy. So, we went home and enjoyed a nice rainy day.
