February 2 is Candlemas, and we've been making our own candles for the past few years, and then bringing them to church to be blessed. It's a really fun tradition, and the kids are always so ridiculously excited about the candle making.
We have to hang them from the ceiling while they are drying to keep them safe from the excitement :-)

Lucy developed an intense interest in birds at this time. She collected facts, practiced bird calls all day long, and nothing was more exciting than spotting a new bird in our neighborhood. She drew many of these kids of pictures.
Our friends raise rabbits, and we got the treat of holding some babies.
