Travels

Well, it's been another long stretch with no blogging. I plead busy-ness? Summer training can get kind of crazy, even when the classes are optional! We really enjoyed our time there though. My favorite part was hanging out with the other moms every week, and more often if we could catch each other in between meals, classes and nap-times. We also spent quite a few weekends traveling- one to Whitewater for James' parents' anniversary party, one to Chicago for college friends' wedding, and one to... shoot, I don't remember! Oh well. Anyway, on to the pictures:

Check out that attitude!

LOVE that smile!

Lucy and me at the Griffie wedding. It was a long day and she did so well the whole time!

This is Lucy's first male admirer, Joe. He was one of the other kids at summer training and whenever he would see Lucy across a room, he would start reaching for her and making noises. His mom, Suzee, told me that she felt like he was saying, "Mom. Look. It's her." Lucy would sometimes smile at him, sometimes not even make eye contact.

Solid foods? Not yet, but we're teething up a storm. Lucy enjoyed trying to bite on this orange in the cafeteria at summer training.

Lucy has been extremely bouncy lately, which has led to me quickly developing huge arm muscles (okay, huge for me). We broke out the Jolly Jumper once we got home from training. There was a two-day learning curve where all she did was hang there and bite the front, but now she thoroughly enjoys it. I cook dinner, Lucy bounces and sings to me, and we're all very happy.

Notice the little bandaid on her leg-- we had her four month doctors appointment this week. We switched pediatricians because of a poor experience with the last one, and I am very happy we did. The new doctor was a great experience, even with the sadness of vaccinations. Lucy is in the 50th percentile for weight at 14lb 2oz, the 80th for height, and the 90th for head size. Way to go, Lucy!

After just about a week's stay in St. Louis, we are headed back on the road again tomorrow. This time to Wisconsin for two weeks! We look forward to spending lots of time with Grandma and Grandpa Stanley, seeing relatives at a Stanley family reunion, attending another college friend's wedding, hostessing a bachelorette party, and catching up with some college friends. James is busy at work this summer working on his fundraising. If you know anyone who would be interested joining our support team, let us know!
