Hard to believe, but this little guy is now three years old. He knew it right away. He woke up, and I said, "Happy Birthday, Charlie!" and he replied, "Happy Day!" He chirped "happy day" all day long. Click here to hear him!
The kids LOVE when Great Granny sends balloons.
Here are a few videos of him with his gifts:
Our preschool group had a fun day focused on bees. Here the kids and moms are sorting themselves into two hives based on the smell of cotton balls (bees can tell if they are from the same hive or not by smell).
Our friend Joe is a beekeeper and was kind enough to come and tell us all about it.
He's showing us a frame filled with honey comb. It was so beautiful!
He took us outside to look for bees collecting nectar from clover. It didn't take us long to find one!
We went to a nearby beach with our neighborhood homeschooling co-op. The older kids looked for fossils of shark teeth, the younger kids played in the sand :-)
Charlie was offended at the ocean. He would just stand on the shore watching the waves roll in with a disgusted look on his face, and then he would turn around and stomp away. I thought this meant that he wouldn't go into the water, but once he ran straight it and lost his footing a little!
Peter loved just about every part of it.
Here is the best video I could get of Charlie getting mad at the beach:
Hi, I'm Lucy!
Playing "sugar cookie." The idea is you get wet, you roll yourself in sand until you look like a sugar cookie. Lucy absolutely loves his game.
Our first trip to the orchard of the year! The strawberries were amazing.
There was a tractor ride to and from the fields.
Rub a dub dub two brothers in a tub.
Lucy frequently falls asleep reading a book. "I'm not tired!"
Peter is 1! How'd that happen?
I thought he would love banana chocolate chip cake, but he was pretty cool about it.
This little wild man loves balls. He will throw them and then chase them around like a dog.
Here's a video of him showing of his new trick (he's breathing like that because he's really excited about the ball):
